• The type of person that can be classed as unambitious, Setsurou can come across as lazy to many, often unmotived and apathetic towards others, when really he just doesn't want to get caught up in melodramatics, as he finds them tiresome. He enjoys being in his own thoughts, as well as having his own mind and prefers to spend his time in the tranquility of his own company in a location that is inspiring, searching for inspiration, living the illusion of freedom and possibility. A laidback dreamer, mostly. Wanting to fullfil his own path, Setsurou is naturally expressive and likes to show his feelings through creative media, recording his memories in physical form where he can look back at them later, to reflect upon himself and his decisions. He is collected and rarely gets worked up, striving to have patience and sensibility so that he can become a better, stronger warrior with a steadier heart that can be admired. Honestly, he would rather walk away then get overly stressed and risk shutting down. Open-minded and able to take feedback and criticism, Setsurou can admittedly be a little self-absorbed, vain in that he has a weakness for aesthetically beautiful things, including tending to his own appearance, as well as selfish in wishing to achieve his own goals before striving to help others with theirs, as his wishes mean a lot to him. That said, he is also caring and thoughtful enough that he is willing to listen, as well as change if it means he can improve, making him adaptable. During times of battle where he is engaged in combat or concetration, Setsurou can become a very focused individual, able to keep his head in the game, as well as demonstrate a strong determination. He will try his best and stick to his own code of honour, making him loyal and true to himself, whether this ends up for better or for worse.
  

• Born into the Branch House of the Asukai Clan during the winter of 1245, Setsurou was the first and only child to two Branch Asukai parents, his life simple but full of expectations, especially from his father to whom he looked up to. Growing up and during his childhood, Setsurou displayed a placid nature from a young age, demonstrating curiosity and contentment, always watching where he would be in awe as he observed his father's training sessions. He was the kind of child who preferred to learn through watching, and so, he kept his head down and took things in as much as he could. Immediately from being a child, it was evident that his skills laid in his creativity, but he also displayed when seemed to be a natural grace, which would go towards contributing to future fluid movements.
  

• During the Academy, Setsurou naturally did better in the physical sides of his classes, more than his written. He did his best and used what he knew in order to try and put it forward as much as possible. He began training with his father instead of simply watching, and became inspired by the way he used the Clan's techniques, hoping that one day he too would be able to wield a weapon with the same about of skill. As such, he put in effort to start practicing them, and gained some enthusiasm, wanting to learn and get better. Due to the promise he showed, Setsurou's father came to expect more from him, wanting him to excel and succeed to the best of his ability. In order to implement this, Setsurou's father gifted him with a fan at that time; one simple and basic, unweaponised but serving as a symbol to give his son further drive to pracise that little bit harder and act as a goal until he was old enough to hold his own. It did indeed serve the purpose it was given, and Setsurou did start to work harder, putting in more determination and asking for more criticism in the hopes that his growth would continue.

• By the time Setsurou was 16, he was excited for the the ceremony that would give him what he had hoped for, the chance to make his own fan which would be entirely his, a token of his own individualism, as well as his weapon for the future. He was proud, but he also knew there was still a lot he had yet to learn, something which he was reminded of by the fan he still kept. A symbol of his father's hopes for him. As such, he put in his best effort to create something beautiful and when it was done, set it aside, until the day comes when he is finally ready and skilled enough to take up his arms. Another goal and a reminder which would only serve as further motivation now he had something concrete to aim for, something he could touch that was all his own. As such, Setsurou would continue his training, going at his own pace, with high hopes that day would come soon enough.
  

• Only child of two Asukai Branch parents

• Given a simple fan by his father to act as an representation and give him incentive, Setsurou starts to work harder and sets a goal for the future, to become better so one day he can be worthy of wielding his own fan in the future, and have pride in his skills as an Asukai ninja.
• Makes his own fan aged 16 and then sets it aside to further his goal, continuing with his training at his own pace, aspirations reinforced strongly now with a higher incentive than ever.
